Web Programmer
We are looking for an experienced web developer to join our team and lead the development of our next wave of online systems. You will be involved in all aspects of development, from working with the technical director on the initial specifications, through to developing, testing and launching the site. You will also quickly gain the opportunity to manage your own projects and clients.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain websites using PHP, MySQL, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Meet with clients in order to establish technical requirements, and develop technical specifications
- Develop and implement testing plans
- Manage our(remote) dedicated UNIX and Windows servers
- Flash development with ActionScript 3, PHP and MySQL
- Implement changes and ongoing development to existing systems
- Regular client liaison to provide project updates and support
- Help to keep us at the forefront of everything we do by exploring new ideas and technologies
Essential skills and experience:
- PHP
- MySQL
- AJAX
- JavaScript
- ActionScript 3 for Flash
- HTML and CSS
- A proven track record of developing database-driven web systems, and integrating Flash with PHP and MySQL
- Client contact experience
- An understanding of usability and user-focussed development
- A proven ability to develop and implement a pre-launch testing plan
Desirable skills and experience:
- Management of web servers
- Experience of developing e-learning systems and content
- Management of office IT systems
- Project and client management
